Storage conditions

As wines age, certain varieties with aging potential become better, but this is only true if certain conditions are met. After bottling, wine continues to undergo changes that affect its physical and chemical characteristics. By maintaining the right conditions, these changes can occur in a favorable direction, enhancing the wine’s quality.

What are these conditions?

01. Constant Temperature

Wine should be stored in a cool place, ideally at a constant temperature of +10 to +14°C, with no sudden temperature fluctuations. A rise in temperature will cause the wine to mature too quickly, preventing it from showing its full potential. Low temperatures, on the other hand, stress the wine.

02. Humidity

The storage room must have a humidity level between 65-85% to prevent the cork from drying out. Since wine "breathes," it cannot tolerate improper conditions. Adequate ventilation is also necessary to ensure fresh, odor-free air.

03. Protection from Light

Wine is sensitive to light and should be kept away from direct sunlight and fluorescent lights. Prolonged exposure to light is harmful. Wine prefers the darkness.

04. Horizontal Storage and Stability

Wine should be stored horizontally, ensuring the cork stays covered, in complete stillness. Vibration, movement, and shocks are unacceptable, which is why wine fridges designed for storage must not only maintain temperature but also prevent vibrations, unlike regular household fridges.

It’s clear that, in home conditions, maintaining the proper storage of a wine collection is challenging. However, adhering to the conditions mentioned above will help preserve wine for many years.
At our company, the wine is stored under ideal conditions, provided by nature itself. For many years, tunnels from limestone extraction—used for construction—have been repurposed to ensure optimal storage conditions. At a depth of 80 meters underground, where no sunlight can reach, our wines rest in peace.

In complete stillness, they mature, acquiring the noble qualities for which they are so highly appreciated by wine connoisseurs and collectors. Here, with a humidity of 85% and a constant temperature of +12 to +14°C, all the conditions for long-term storage are created.
Moreover, specialists constantly inspect the wine to check for any damage to the wax seal, preventing mold and fungi from entering the wine. We care deeply about preserving our collection.
