White Traminer

The famous dessert wine “Auriu” is made from hand-harvested White Traminer grapes that have reached 100% technical maturity, grown in the sunny plantations of southern and central Moldova. The “Auriu” brand was created by specialists at the Rezina State Farm-Winery in the Kutuzov district in 1953. The grapes for this wine were harvested in 1986 from two locations: in central Moldova on the vineyards of the Rezina State Farm and in the south at the Tsyganka State Farm-Winery in the Cahul district.

The wine was aged in oak barrels for 3 years and then, after bottling, matured under special conditions in the cellars of Mileștii Mici. The ideal humidity and temperature during storage allowed the wine to fully unlock its potential for long-term aging, becoming part of the world-renowned Golden Collection, which is included in the Guinness Book of Records.

The wine is of a festive golden-amber color. Its aroma is dominated by notes of tea rose jam, caramelized pineapple, candied fruits, and tropical fruits. The taste is rich, oily, harmonious, developing into a long aftertaste of linden honey.

Before serving, it is recommended to decant the wine to remove the sediment that formed during long storage. It is advisable to chill the wine to +8 to +10 degrees when serving. It pairs well with citrus sorbets, ice cream, and melon. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a digestif.
